Non Local Groups
This page is dedicated to groups who did not actually work in our area in the Sixties but wanted to be included anyway - and why not!!
Danny's Passion - from Cornwall

Way back in
the mid 1960s when pop music was revolutionising
the world of music, one of the top Cornish bands was Falmouth based
Danny's Passion.
This 5 piece
outfit had a huge local following, and in 1966, they signed a recording
contract with the Legendary producer Joe Meek, creator of “Telstar”,
travelling to his studio in Holloway Road, London, they recorded a track
called “(It’s all leading up to) Saturday Night”
which was intended to be their first single, further sessions
followed, but unfortunately, with Joe’s death on February 3rd
1967, these tracks,(except for one) along with hundreds of other gems,
are still hidden away, somewhere in London.
Such was the
interest in the group at the time, that they appeared on the front page
of the Falmouth Packet (see attached report), now 40 years on, and not
having seen each other for all these years, this Saturday 29th
July, Four of the original line-up are coming together for a reunion
meal at The Green Lawns Hotel, in Falmouth, and for one, it means a
journey from New Zealand, where he now lives.

Sixties Tribute Band from Holland
Have Mersey
Another Fantastic Dutch Sixties group
Have
Mersey! have the specific 'Merseybeat' sound and play classic
hits as well as good to hear music like: Freddy & the Dreamers, The
Searchers, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Brian Poole & the Tremeloes, Hollies,
Rolling Stones, Beatles and many more.
Also
typical ‘Nederbeat’ songs (Dutch beat of the sixties) like the Golden
Earrings and The Motions is a part of this adventure which gives the
evening a real back to the sixties touch.
Very
special: The chorus singing and the entire arrangement, which is typical
for the Mersey sound of Liverpool, are present too.
Yuri,
the singer of the band, will talk you through the roaring sixties during their
performance.
